Fallen O’er

2016

A site-responsive work created for Abbotsford Convent’s mural hall, Fallen O’er was a choreography referencing memories of liturgical dance rituals at school. It traversed song, dance and text, with formal overtures to catholic strictures and moralism. Across their 10-year collaboration, Alice Will Caroline often worked with thematics of restraint, witholding and the absurdity of modern workplace predicaments which demand censure and erasure of self. Fallen O’er was an early manifestation of this preoccupation.
